Saxonby sign three-year Shrewsbury & District Evening Cricket League sponsorship deal
The thriving Shrewsbury & District Evening Cricket League has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with Saxonby.
The league reflected on its biggest and best season in 2011, according to Steve Reese, at its recent AGM. He stressed how pleased he was to have the ongoing support of Saxonby.
"The League will be known as the Saxonby Shrewsbury & District Evening Cricket League," said Reece. "The company is passionate about creating sustainable developments that have a long lasting affect on local communities. Within all of its projects it strives to achieve added value including community regeneration and training.
"It sees its association with the league as another way in which it can make a siginificant contribution to the community, where over 500 people a week participate in evening league cricket across Shropshire."
Saxonby director, James Wood, captain of his league six side, said: "Although it doesn't start until the beginning of May there is already a buzz of anticipation from players in my team about the forthcoming season. 2011 was very successful and with this three-year deal now in place, the league is secure. We are proud to be associated with such a vibrant and worthwhile sport, played and enjoyed by hundreds of people at all levels of ability."
